Roy Wroth, President
Roy is an urbanist practicing in Santa Fe. His work integrates urban design, preservation, and community development. Roy is a founding board member of the Santa Fe Complex, and serves as co-director of the Triangle District Resource Center.
Gene Bourne, Secretary
Gene has a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Masters degree in Media Studies. Upon moving to Santa Fe, he became owner of The Strip Shop, a furniture restoration and refinishing business. Since 2002, Gene has been helping people make real estate decisions that add to the quality of their life; he offers assistance in all aspects of buying and selling real estate.
For the majority of Gene’s working life, he has been a business owner. Gene was born and raised in New York City, where he first worked as a freelance photographer and then owner of an internationally-recognized bookstore/photography gallery in Manhattan’s Soho district.
David Pease, Treasurer
David Pease has over 40 years accounting experience in three countries. His work spans the gamut of assisting individuals, small businesses, and large corporations; from preparing individual and corporate tax returns to conducting audits of complex institutions such as hospitals and credit unions. David has served on numerous boards and committees, including a Community Resource Board and a hospital board in Canada, and has been a city councilor in Terrace, British Columbia. In addition to serving as treasurer of the Santa Fe Alliance board, David is active with the New Mexico National Speakers Association, and the Conscious Aging network.
TC Gritt
TC has been associated with Bioneers since 2004, as the Volunteer Coordinator for on-site staff at the annual Bioneers conference in California. Prior to joining Bioneers, TC held a variety of positions including Associate Store Team Leader at Whole Foods Market in Santa Fe.
As an active member of the community, TC was appointed to the Sustainable Santa Fe Commission by Mayor Delgado in 2002. Then, in 2006, she was appointed to the Recycling and Illegal Dumping Abatement Alliance for the State of New Mexico by Ron Curry, the Secretary of the New Mexico Environment Department. She is the co-founder of the Green Business Network of Santa Fe, a business network in the emerging field of green building and technologies. TC is also a current board member for the Santa Fe Alliance.
She LOVES to think “smarter not harder.” A lover of all things furry, feathered, or fantastical, she can often be found with her dogs, chickens and cats celebrating the simple joys of shadows dancing on the wall.
Judy Herzl
Bringing marketing and PR expertise, as well as a love of bringing people, ideas and solutions together — Judy has produced materials for cultural, and environmental organizations as well as designed books on water, art, film, and Hopi children’s stories.
Judy is interested in seeing Santa Fe become a leader in water use, green economy initiatives, and in strengthening local economic opportunities. She would like to see more creative/entrepreneurial programs for youth that draw on food and agriculture used in inventive ways. She is also very interested in businesses, and in organizations creating a sustainable work environment, especially in their use of human resources. Judy is also a board member of Farm to Table, and is delighted to support the important work of the Santa Fe Alliance.
Zoë Nelsen
Zoë was raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Fort Lewis College in Colorado, a Master’s in Educational Thought and Sociocultural Studies from The University of New Mexico, a secondary teacher’s license with an endorsement in Social Studies and is certified as a Wilderness First Responder. She worked for five years at an Albuquerque charter high school with “at risk” youth, where she helped develop a school orientation program, implement a mentorship program based on a model for transformative education, facilitated teambuilding activities and taught thematic units in social studies. With La Mesita Institute she helped design and implement summer programs for youth focusing on sustainability and based in experiential learning. Recently, she has transitioned into the business sector, as a grant and proposal writer, project coordinator and operational manager.
Zoë brings to EcoScapes Landscaping a dedication to building awareness within the community, through workforce development and literacy. She has studied the principles of permaculture, is becoming a student of earthworks, and strongly believes that local businesses fulfill their civic responsibility by becoming more involved in public education. Zoë recognizes the importance of training individuals and communities in ecologically based practices.
