“Stan believes he is the eighth steward to hold the reins of The Pantry over its 62-year history of being Santa Fe’s ‘meeting place,’ ” the e-mail said. “Begun as a family restaurant by George Myers and his wife in 1948, The Pantry has enjoyed continuous operation for over 62 years and garnered many kudos and awards, continuing through today.”
Michael Singley said he has “no plans to change what everyone loves about the Pantry,” although he does plan to add new dishes, especially to the restaurant’s dinner menu.
Michael Singley will work with restaurant general manager Rocio Dominguez in assuming his duties at The Pantry.
Stan Singley, on the other hand, said he hopes the addition of his son to The Pantry team will allow him to pursue some other business interests and play a little more golf.
